Indian Railways is gearing up to introduce the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, which is a next-generation train set to revolutionize the experience of overnight travel in India. The train will run on the New Delhi-Howrah route and travel about 1,449 km in less than 15 hours.

Quicker than Rajdhani express

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be much faster than the Rajdhani Express, which currently takes approximately 17 hours to travel the same distance. With a speed of 160 km/h, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will enable passengers to reach their destination sooner, and it will be an appealing option for people traveling between the two cities.

Modern amenities

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train will consist of 16 coaches, including 11 AC 3-tier coaches, 4 AC 2-tier coaches, and 1 first-class AC coach. The train will provide the latest amenities, such as cozy berths, bio-vacuum toilets, and automatic sliding doors. There will also be mobile charging ports and reading lights at each berth for passengers.

Halts and Route

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have stops at key stations such as Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, Gaya Junction, Dhanbad Junction, and Asansol Junction. The train will run on a timetable that enables passengers to arrive at their destination at a suitable time.

Fare structure

The price of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train has not been officially declared, but as per reports, the fare of AC 3-tier will be about ₹3,000, AC 2-tier will be about ₹4,000, and first-class AC will be about ₹5,100. The fare will be competitive with the other expensive trains on the route.

A gift to Mamata Didi

The introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train has been viewed as a special offering to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has been agitating for enhanced rail connectivity for the state. The train should help spur economic activity in the area and act as an affordable travel solution for passengers.

Travel experience on the premium train

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train is a huge leap in the development of India's rail infrastructure. With its new facilities, shorter travel time, and smooth ride, the train is set to transform nighttime travel in India. Travelers can enjoy a superior and easier travel experience on the premium train.
